Our mission is “Transgids” would be a catalyst for existing LGBT and Trans organisations to consider a new UK wide voluntary group by Trans People for Trans People, helping those in need, gain financial support and guidance in acquiring their new gender appropriate identity documents to help them move towards getting a GRC.
In light of the recent and wrongful Supreme court decision on defininition of Sex we feel now more than ever the trans community is under attack.
The hope would be to offer funding and sign posting on how to get photographic ID in your true gender as many of us know the costs involved with updating your IDs can be very expensive especially if you aren’t working and on benefits.
If you want a GRC then new ID is a critical part of that process and while the application fee for a GRC is affordable the associated costs aren’t for many of us.
We’d like to see a directory of notary services for statutory declarations via local solicitors who are allies.
We’d like to sponsorships from organisations offering free services to Trans People, whether that’s free passport Photos, Free Makeup, Free Hair/Barber Services.

Our vision for the future is of course an inclusive one where trans people are not excluded from living normal lives and improving trans lives across the UK.
We’d hope in the future Organisation would offer dedicated support in a range a range of employability services from creating professional CV’s, Employment Coaching, Funded Retraining and so much more.
